Upgrades from the Previous Version
The 2020 lineup introduces the TRD Off-road trim. Android Auto and SiriusXM satellite radio are standard for all models. The sunroof is optional for the XLE, with upgraded seats. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is standard for the Adventure. The flagship model has a JBL audio system as default.
Performance Specs
All models come with the same 2.5-litre Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine with a VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing-intelligent) system. It delivers a torque capacity of 184 lb-ft and 203 horsepower. Towing capacity ranges between 680 kg and 1,587 kg, depending on the trim -- the Adventure and the TRD Off-road are the most powerful.
Design Elements
The rear seats are foldable across the entire lineup, meaning extra cargo space is available. Black carpet flooring is standard, but all trims can opt for carpet floor mats. There are also wiper controls for all models.
There are LED daytime running lights, tail lights and brake lights for all trims. All models also come with privacy glass and aerodynamic underbody panels. While all trims but the LE can opt for a moonroof, only the flagship model has the option of a panoramic glass roof.
Technology and Infotainment
The LE, XLE, and XLE Premium come with a 7-inch touchscreen display. It’s compatible with Alexa, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Adventure and TRD Off-Road come with an 8-inch screen and the same compatibilities. The flagship model has an 11-speaker JBL audio system as standard. It has a 10-year trial subscription for Service Connect, a one-year trial for Remote Connect, and a three-month trial for WiFi Connect.
Safety Features
This lineup has plenty of safety features standard; indeed, there’s little difference between the entry-level trim and the flagship model in this sense. All models can count on a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection included, Safety Connect, tire pressure monitoring, lane departure alert, and much more. Additionally, there are eight airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners with force limiters, and adjustable front seat belt shoulder anchors.
